Job description

Employee will work as a heavy truck and trailer mechanic at the Employer's in-house shop in Fontana, California. The Employee will be responsible for performing preventative and general maintenance on Company's tractor-trailer truck fleet. Employee will work on Detroit "DD" unit, Cummins engines, and trailers.

Specific duties will include: Performing preventative truck maintenance, including anticipating repairs before the parts, such as hoses or tires; assisting drivers with troubleshooting failures on the road via phone; Performing oil changes; and Performing general truck maintenance (including working on engines, suspensions, transmissions, Diesel Particulate Filer systems, brakes, clutches, alternators, starters, and air conditioning systems). Employee will also perform vehicle inspections to ensure trucks are in working order, perform diagnostic/troubleshooting of mechanical issues, and perform subsequent repairs. Employee will be responsible for filling out Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) for California and the U.S. Department of Transportation truck inspection forms every 90 days, and annually attesting to the fact that Employee inspected the trucks and found them in good working order and/or all repairs were made.

Anticipated days and hours of work per week (ex. Monday – 8 hours, Tuesday, 8 hours, etc.
o 40 Hrs. Per work week
5 Day work week

Hourly work schedule (ex. start at 9AM end at 5PM)
o 4 positions
2 for the morning shift 7am-3:30pm
2 for the afternoon 2pm-10:30pm
Monday-Saturday, Off days will be assigned depending on the work load
