Job description
The type of work in which construction workers will engage is non-agricultural. A and B Concrete Construction is involved in construction work on commercial, residential, and cooperative structures. The workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Workers will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs, using various hand and power tools. They will align forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, patch voids, and use saws to cut expansion joints. Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are correctly constructed. Set the forms that have concrete to the desired pitch and depth and align them. Spread, level, and smooth concrete using a rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. They will also monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the concrete cures throughout the entire process. Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedges.
Special Requirements
Workers must have at least 3 months of experience working as a concrete finisher in commercial and residential projects. Workers must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 50 lbs.
