Job description

Specific Job Requirements:
1. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach for long periods of time.
2. Responsible for helping with day-to-day farming operations in their designated area on the vegetable farm.
3. Duties include harvesting, packaging, weeding, washing and cooling of row crop vegetables to meet production standards and procedures.
4. The work is under the general direction of a supervisor or employer and is subject to period review by the supervisors for results obtained, changes in work methods, and adherence to policies.
5. Maximize crop by best weeding and harvesting practices.
6. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
7. Work with crews that move and set up irrigation pipes. Workers can also:
8. Drive tractors
9. Spray and mix chemicals and fertilizers
10. Operate trucks to carry farm equipment, crops and farmworkers
11. Perform general repair of agricultural equipment.
12. Pack crops into containers
Field Work Involves:
13. Repetitive movements
14. Extensive Pushing and pulling extensive walking
15. frequent stooping
Field Worker will do the following tasks:
16. Plant transplants and/or seeds
17. Harvest a variety of produce and berries Pack produce for delivery to customers
18. Lift and stack produce on trucks for transport to main farm Perform weeding as needed
19. Follow instructions from Field Supervisors
20. Keep production levels at crew rates Work with irrigation systems
21. Perform manual labor as needed
22. Work Safely following procedures and instructions Follow instructions regarding hygiene and food safety
23. Leaf cutting: When the bunch starts to color, the leaf is cut away around the cluster.
