Job description
Workers will Plant, pot, cultivate and harvest various types of trees and shrubs that grow in the farm field and nursery. Work includes pinching, pruning, fertilizing, watering, rooting, weeding, loading, potting, transporting, discarding, rotating, grading, storing, and transplanting field grown trees and shrubs according to supervisor's instructions. Maintain nursery equipment and greenhouse. Clean, organize and maintain nursery, greenhouse and farm building as needed.
Workers recruited and hired for these specific farm work positions will also drive and operate farm vehicles and equipment consistent with or described in the tasks and work activities articulated in the ONET online information for SOC code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operators. Farm vehicles are classified as less than 26001 GVWR. Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil; planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops; feeding and herding livestock; or removing animal waste. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops.
Special Requirements
This job requires a minimum of one months of verifiable prior experience working on a diversified crop farm or nursery greenhouse handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience.
Saturday work required.
