Job description
Perform numerous tasks related to growing and harvesting Tomatoes and Bell Peppers. Plant, seed, prune, irrigate, harvest crops, and pack and load them for shipment. Prepare the land, do irrigation, lay plastic, install stakes, hand remove weeds, planting, and picking. Demonstrate good visual acuity, with an ability to identify weeds, pests, and crops ready for harvest. Stand, sit, bend, kneel, stretch and squat for long periods of time while using best practices to maintain strong long term personal health. Demonstrate sufficient dexterity of hands, arms, and finders to be able to perform the principal responsibilities of the job, including to harvest fruit; to install, position, and move materials; and to manipulate tools and equipment. Repetitively lift and carry items up to 45 lbs.
Special Requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 months verifiable experience in specialty crop farm work. This position demands physical resilience to bend, stoop, stand for prolonged durations, and lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., tomato buckets). The role involves working under extreme temperatures, and may necessitate extensive periods of sitting or walking, alongside frequent stooping, bending, and repetitive motions.
