Job description

Sugar Cane Field workers - 10 temporary positions; approximately 6 months; job to begin 07/01/24 through 01/15/25; Duties: Assist with the maintenance and the harvesting of the sugarcane crop. Manually plant sugarcane crop. Cut sugarcane crop in the fields. Operate tractors in the fields while preparing the sugar cane fields for planting. Till soil. $14.53 per hour. 40 hrs a week. M-F; 7AM-4PM base schedule, but as with all agricultural work, it is influenced by the weather. OT may vary but is not guaranteed; three (3) months of experience in the job offered is required. All work tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no charge. Housing and transportation will be provided to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of the work day; transportation and subsistence expenses to the work site will be provided by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract, or earlier, if appropriate; employer guarantees to offer three-fourths (3/4) of the total work hours listed in the contract.
