Job description

Workers must be able to: operate agricultural packing equipment for onions in accordance with production schedules; guide product on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; load and unload product; manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust packing machinery; weigh and track product and packaging as directed; empty bags to bagger machines, remove full bags from machines, manually cinch and tie the bags, and lift bags to a conveyor belt (approximately 4" to 18" from the ground level); work with a box line machine (placing empty boxes on the machine and then fold, close, and remove the box from the machine); moving product to and from machines; and perform any other tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2091. Related duties may be assigned. All tasks herein constitute one job. Work is performed in a packing shed facility with exposure to loud noise, odors, dust/debris, and operational machinery and equipment. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, and crouching is required. Highly repetitive motions at a sustained reasonable pace are required. Being on one's feet for long periods of time is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate agricultural packing equipment, product, packaging, and related items is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.

Special Requirements

Workers must have 60 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Workers may be offered the opportunity to work more than the hours and/or days in this schedule. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in Addendum C. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
