Job description

Workers will operate tractors, hydraulic cherry shakers, forklifts and other equipment for the harvesting of cherries. There will be some hand pruning of cherry trees and vegetation around fences with chain saws and/or loppers, and removal of excess vegetation by hand. Workers will clean, adjust, repair and perform routine maintenance on equipment (ie: lubricating grease points, inspecting and maintaining fluid levels, checking belt and conveyor tensions, and maintaining tires, wheels, bearings, belts and other wear parts). Workers will maintain grounds and perform maintenance on buildings, fences and clean equipment as needed. Work will be performed outdoors, in all weather conditions. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. This opportunity requires workers to have 3 months experience in maintaining and operating farm equipment, 3 months of experience in tree pruning and workers must be able to lift 50lbs and climb ladders.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of cell phones during work hours is prohibited, supervisors will have phones in case of emergency.
