Job description

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. The workers’ duties will include but are not limited to: cleaning or preparing construction sites, digging trenches and backfilling excavations using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes, erecting or dismantling scaffolding shoring, braces, or other temporary structures, implementing waste management procedures, mixing, pouring, or spreading concrete, using portable cement mixers, operating jackhammers or drills, and providing assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, or masons. Workers will build agriculture buildings such as grain elevators and pole barns. Employees will be traveling to the jobsites throughout the area of intended employment. Due to the sparsely populated nature of South Dakota this type of travel is customary. Workers will only build agriculture buildings on a farm for a farmer, which is considered secondary agriculture and meets the requirements for H-2A workers. Please see ETA 790 Addendum for additional detail/specifics.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Post-employment drug test paid for by employer.

Did you know that... there are 2 types of H-2 visas?

Agricultural workers get H-2A visas. H-2B workers are in non-agricultural jobs like construction.
