Job description

Workers must be able to operate a powered forklift within an onion packing facility and use the forklift to: handle, load, and unload product, materials, and deliveries; move product to and from storage areas, machines, and trucks as directed; transport product and/or materials to and from designated areas; locate finished product pallets or crates around the facility as directed; load products in the correct storage bays and/or locations in the facility as directed, to ensure efficient inventory control. Workers must be able to follow instructions precisely with respect to drop locations. Workers must ensure that product or materials are not damaged by the forklift. Workers must perform daily equipment checks to make sure the forklift remains in good working condition and timely report any issues. Any other assigned duties under this order will be under SOC Code 45-2091. Related duties may be assigned. All tasks herein constitute one job. Work is performed in a packing shed facility with exposure to loud noise, odors, dust/debris, and operational machinery and equipment. Frequent walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and crouching is required. Sitting for long periods of time is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity, vision, focus, and cognitive ability to operate a forklift safely and at a reasonable pace is required.

Special Requirements

Workers must have 60 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Workers may be offered the opportunity to work more than the hours and/or days in this schedule. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in Addendum C. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
