Job description

This job requires harvesting crops, planting, irrigating, driving and controlling equipment to support agricultural activities by the worker. There are general conditions of employment and individual requirements that are specific to each job duty.
Row Crops: Brussel sprouts, Cabbage, Celery root, Cauliflower, Parsnips, Raspberries, Squash, Dill, Kale
Field & Warehouse Crew
Responsibilities:

Ride on mechanical transplanter planting mixed vegetables.

Assist with irrigation and moving pipe in row crops.

General hoeing/weeding.

Must follow all food safety requirements when planting, harvesting, and handling produce.

Harvest crops by hand when plants are mature. Field pack when possible.

Prepare orders by trimming and packing product.

Participate in food safety and employee trainings.

Maintain packing warehouse, shop building, and field cleanliness.

Clean and sanitize buildings, flooring, equipment, vehicles, and trailers when necessary.

Complete other necessary duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ability to operate equipment is preferred.

Must be self-motivated individual who accepts responsibility and accounts for his/her actions.

Ability to work in team atmosphere.

Physical and often mental capacity to contribute daily to an often rigorous and fast-paced environment; ability to perform certain tasks such as heavy lifting (60# minimum), repetitive grasping, standing, bending, and walking.
Working Conditions:

Outside, shop buildings, and covered packing warehouse.

Occasional extreme outdoor field environments (heat, cold and wet).

Special Requirements

3 verifiable months of Vegetable Row Crop Experience
4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 60lbs
4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit
4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheelbarrows, vegetable containers, etc.
4i) May require worker to sit, walk or stand for extensive periods of time while washing, sorting, picking, planting, harvesting, irrigating, weeding and hoeing
4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as trimming, washing and packing product
4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example picking, sorting, shoveling, etc.
