Job description
Work may include but is not limited to, plant, cultivate, harvest various crops, such as but not limited to, vegetables, fruits, field crops, use of hand tools such as shovels, hoes, pruning shears, knives, ladders, etc. Duties may include but are not limited to, tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning, picking, cutting, harvesting crops, picking rocks, sorting vegetables, participating in irrigation activities, tie, prune tomatoes, grafting vegetable plants. Stack harvest crates, hay and straw on wagons and trucks, clean up, including but not limited to: sweeping, shoveling, washing equipment, replacing greenhouse covering. Some workers will operate tractors and pallet jacks, some will need a driver’s license to operate company vehicles for local deliveries. Work is usually performed outdoors, sometimes under hot, cold and/or wet conditions. Work is physically demanding, requiring workers to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 70 lbs on a frequent basis. 1 month verifiable experience required in duties listed.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
