Job description

Temporary, seasonal workers needed for cattle and hay farm. Job duties include daily upkeep along with repairs and maintenance to farm equipment, shops, barns, corrals, fences, fields, pastures, roads and water troughs. Mowing grass, digging ditches and removing debris, trash brush and weeds. Use of hand tools
(shovels, sprayer, hoses, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives, etc.) Load and unload trucks. Operate farm equipment including all equipment associated with cutting, spreading, lifting, fluffing and baling hay. Cut and spread hay for drying, monitor moisture content, lift, fluff, bale and store hay. Tractor and truck driving, field prep and water maintenance. Perform extensive physical activities using repetitive body movement for long periods such as to climb, lifting requirement as indicated in job order, push, pull and handle materials. Assisting employer with daily job duties for cattle, which includes feeding, administering medication, as instructed by a professional animal doctor, along with maintaining facilities. Assist with the birthing of calves when time comes. Building and repairing cattle feeders. Possible contact with snakes, alligators, insects, frogs, etc. Able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, from exposure to extreme heat to cold and rain. Pre-employment drug screening is not required, however, once hired employer reserves the right to request all workers to submit to random drug screening throughout employment at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. Time may vary due to unforeseen mechanical problems, weather conditions crop availability.

Special Requirements

Perform extensive physical activities using repetitive body movement for long periods such as to climb, lift up to 70lbs, balance, walk, bend, stretch, twist, kneel, push, pull & handle materials. Exposure to temperatures and weather conditions, which include extreme heat, cold and rain.
