Job description

ROGUEING: The worker will remove corn plants that are a different species as they walk down the corn field aisles between the plants, thus preparing field for detasseling.
SEED CORN SORTING: Corn cobs will be sorted off conveyor belt by size and class.
CORN DETASSELING: Workers will follow detasseling machine by foot removing any spikes left on plants by machine.
GENERAL LABOR: Hand weeding around the corn plants, removing volunteer plants.

Special Requirements

Bonus: At the end of season, grower will give FLC a report with total acres detasseled. Bonus to worker will be calculated as follows:
Total acres detasselled by all employees will be multiplied by $77/acre. From this amount, gross hourly earnings from all passes made by all employees will be deducted. The net amount will be divided equally amongst all employees. Bonus will be paid once grower report is available.
