Farmworker - Corn Detasseling

Job description

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Detassel corn: worker will walk down the aisles in the corn fields, detassel the seed corn, remove rogue plants/weeds, and volunteer corn plants from seed corn production fields. The worker must be able to walk several miles per day while pulling the tassel from each corn stalk. The worker must be able to work long hours in all weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, high pollen, and other harsh conditions. The worker must have the required strength and endurance to complete the work and have the ability to work quickly and skillfully with their hands. Crops: seed corn
