Job description

We have a vegetable season or "pack" from July - November when we process vegetables. The rest of the year we have a much-reduced employee count while we perform Maintenance on our machinery and equipment. We need seasonal workers to assist with attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, operate other farm equipment, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, clean and lubricate parts, dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools, drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery, examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions, maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems, reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary, repair bent or torn sheet metal, repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws, adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance, adjust vehicle components according to specifications, clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order, disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair, fabricate parts or components, inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear, install machine or equipment replacement parts, lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning, reassemble equipment after repair, repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts, replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts, service vehicles to maintain functionality, test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning, test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning. Employer may provide pay increases for performance and experience at employer’s discretion.

Special Requirements

Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires extensive sitting or walking. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Require 3 month farm experience.
