Job description
Workers will be required to hand plant sugarcane by pulling 3-4 stalks of cane from the back of a cane wagon, pulled by a tractor, plancing in rows overlapping with no skip areas, or walking behind and automatice planter and straightening cane stalks in rows and on the end of rows making sure 3-4 stalks are planted throughout the row. Some tractor driving may be required. General farm labor duties such as, but not limited to: drainage/shovel work, minor repair and maintenance to farm equipment and vehicles, keeping the fields, shop areas and housing free of debris, field sanitation duties, general shop work, etc. Workers have to be physically able to perform all duties. Workers may be drug tested post-hire at no cost to the workers to ensure worker safety and keep in compliance with workers compensation guidelines. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. All work and safety rules must be followed. Workers must hand plant between 2-3 acres per day and straightne 7 acres perday according to which operation they are performing.
Special Requirements
Verifyable experience working on a sugarcane farm.
Production requirements: Hand Planting 2.5-3 acres per day
Straightening: 7-8 acres per day
