Job description

Work hours are Mon-Fri 6:00am to 5:00pm, with one hour, unpaid, lunch. Anticipated hours are approximately 50 per week with variable overtime, start times and end times. Prepare sugarcane for planting, operate farm equipment, and perform other agricultural duties. Manual labor, such as clearing trees and manual shovel work. Perform field and shed sanitation duties. Maintain and operate farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Work is done in varying weather conditions from rain and cold to hot and humid. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not unlawfully reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Housing is provided at no cost for workers who cannot reasonably return to permanent residence at end of workday. Once hired, workers
may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in a working environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment. Possibility of work
breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.
