Job description

Responsibilities
Drivers will operate vehicles safely, and keep organized and accurate records.
Inform Logistics Coordinator and/or appropriate staff when problems arise:
*Map out and organize daily delivery routes and follow delivery schedules
*Safely operate the equipment necessary (cages, load bar, straps, pallet jacks, maps and GPS Units)
*Unload trucks when returning from runs; load vehicles when necessary
* Complete and keep DOT Logs, records and run sheets up to date
*Document Shortages and discrepancies and provide this information in a timely manner to appropriate Logistics team member
*Maintain professional communication with customers
*Test vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation, and take vehicle to mechanic for service
*Vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of automobiles
*Transport passengers on a scheduled basis
* Transport farm grown products
Skills
Professional appearance and service oriented disposition to interact with customers
Ability to complete DOT paperwork and pass a DOT drug and alcohol screen
Possesses professional and effective interpersonal and communications skills
Keep vehicles clean and let team members know if there's a vehicle problem
Complete DVCRs (Vehicle Condition Report)
Must be able to maneuver up to 150lbs
Good knowledge of equipment and roads
Able to read customer orders and follow directions
Requirements
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1year recent driving experience
Requires valid driver's license or driver's license issued by a US state
Must have acceptable MVR and provide documentation
Must be able to obtain DOT examiners medical card before commencing work
Must be insurable by the employer's insurance company
Ability to communicate, read, and comprehend traffic signage as well as DOT logs

Special Requirements

Exposure to extreme temp, lifting 50 lbs, repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping.

All license holders that drive commercial vehicles/trucks are required to pass a physical exam as outlined by the US Department of Transportation. The physical exam is administered by a certified physician and the driver is given a medical card indicating that the driver has passed the exam. The card is good for 2 years.
All license holders must have a clean driving record, free of major driving violations and suspensions, in order to be insurable as an acceptable driver by an employer's insurance company.
