Job description
Workers must be able to: hand harvest onions without causing damage to the produce; clip roots and/or tops to specifications; place the harvested product in buckets and transfer product to field bins; move buckets, bins, sacks, and other accompanying items; remove drip tape; weed and hoe crops, using hand tools; assist with other harvesting activities and harvest support tasks; and perform any and all other tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2092. Related duties may be assigned. All tasks herein constitute one job. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Highly repetitive motions to reach crops at ground level and place the crops in appropriate containers are required. Being on one’s feet for long periods of time is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate hand tools, farm equipment, and crops is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
Special Requirements
Workers must have 30 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Work may be required in addition to or outside of this schedule. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in Addendum C. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
