Job description
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time.
Food Preparation Worker: Duties may vary from time to time at the supervisors’ discretion and will be concurrent with other farmworker schedules. Workers will perform duties to prepare food at on-farm kitchen facilities to be consumed by farmworkers under other H-2A job orders. Workers will prepare three meals a day in compliance with H-2A regulations and to ensure balanced nutrition for the farmworkers. Workers’ may be required to cut, slice, mince, defrost, wash, peel, blend, prepare, sauté, fry, broil, cook and serve a variety of foods including meats, vegetables, or desserts. Workers will be required to handle hot and cold food, prepare tortillas in the processor machine, and cook them. Workers will deliver prepared food to farmworkers at the farm fields or on-farm housing. Workers will assist cleaning and sanitizing silverware, refrigerators, equipment, kitchen, and dining area at the end of the day and other times as needed.
The employer will ensure that all food and supplies necessary to prepare the food are delivered and provided at the on-farm kitchen facilities. Workers must maintain a clean vehicle to transport prepared food to the farmworkers. Workers must have a minimum of one year experience in traditional Mexican food preparation and equipment management due to safety reasons with sharp equipment and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Workers must possess a valid driver license, class C or equivalent, and must speak English and Spanish to be able to communicate with farm workers.
Eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Saturday, is normal, however the worker may be requested but not required to work additional hours per day and the Sabbath and/or federal holidays and Sunday depending upon the conditions of the crop, weather, maturity of the crop and market conditions. All workers will be required to take a one-hour lunch period in order to rest and eat their noon meal.

Criminal background check: GM Harvesting may conduct criminal background checks at the employer's expense on all new applicants post-employment. Failure to pass criminal background check is grounds for termination.
To perform any job duty that may require employees to drive a vehicle, the driver must possess proper and current valid driver license class C, or its foreign equivalent.
