Job description

This contract encompasses supervising general farm labor and labor for apples and pears.

The First line supervisors lead the team of farm workers and work alongside them, providing instruction and training in the work. Train all crewmembers to understand quality and daily production requests. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring goals and work standards are met and that work and housing rules are being followed. Must attend mandatory meetings and trainings as needed. The Supervisor is the person in charge of the daily work of a group of people. The supervisor must be able to communicate in a positive and encouraging manner how to effectively and efficiently perform the task at hand. The Supervisor will continually train employees to be more efficient and most importantly in a safe manner. A supervisor must at all times be diligent of unsafe practices and train accordingly to safe practices. Supervisors are expected to fill out reports such as hours worked, pieces picked, incident and or accident reports. Supervisors are also expected to conduct meetings with their crews on such topics as safety and relay messages from management. Company training is a requirement for this position. The workweek may include nights and weekends, as directed by wafla field services advisor. The supervisors must be able to use a cell phone and iPAD for regular communication and employee timekeeping.

Special Requirements

B.2) Worker must possess 12 months of supervisor experience in agriculture. Priority will be given to candidates with supervisor experience in tree fruit harvest.
