Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of potatoes, sugar beets, corn, hay, wheat, and barley. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to truck driving.
Work will include the following responsibilities: drive, load/unload farm/Ag exempt, non CDL semi/10-wheel trucks on, or between, farm worksites; backup trucks in tight maneuvering conditions; climb in and out of trucks/truck beds/trailers several times a day; transported product in a timely manner; responsible for keeping trucks in working order; report malfunctions to mechanic/supervisor; wash/clean/maintain trucks and trailers; check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure truck is working properly; inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water and maintain/replace/replenish as needed; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers.
Special Requirements
Applicants must have 20 days experience with farm work and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance. Applicants hired must be able to obtain a valid drivers license as driving on public roads may be required.
