Job description
Assist the farm team with the implementation of all aspects of corn, alfalfa, soybeans, wheat and miscellaneous row crop and forage farming including tillage, land improvement, manure handling and harvesting. This position involves manual labor and long hours during peak periods of operations. Must be able to operate and learn to operate all equipment associated with field operations. Employee will assist with tillage and preparing land for planting, harvesting, and hauling crops, helping to install drain tile in fields, and manure hauling and handling to field and/or facility. Employee will also assist with clearing fence lines and land improvement, will be required to maintain employee housing, assisting with facility and grounds maintenance on related properties, and support on basic projects and needs. Will be required to follow start-up and shut-down protocols on equipment, pre-trip inspection on farm and dump trucks, and basic repairs and routine maintenance of all machinery and equipment that is operated. Employee must be able to follow directions and must be willing to strictly follow protocols to achieve critical functions. Must have the ability and willingness develop a team approach to work. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial trucking is required.
Special Requirements
We require a regular drivers license or a valid international permit equivalent to drive a farm plated farm-truck. We require 3 months experience.
