Job description

Workers will grade and sort onions by size, color, feel, and aesthetic appearance; discard inferior or defective products and foreign matter; package product for shipment or further processing (including filling, lifting, and carrying boxes or bags of product); organize and store product; and perform other duties and tasks under SOC Code 45-2041. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed in and around a packing facility. Being on one's feet for long time periods is required. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, turning, pushing, and/or pulling may be required. Dexterity to manipulate agricultural products is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.

Special Requirements

Workers must have 30 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Work may be required in addition to or outside of this schedule. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in Addendum C. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
