Agricultural Equipment Operator

Job description
In spring, we begin planting, spraying, and spreading fertilizer in the fields as part of our no-till operation. We need seasonal workers to pick up seed, with some conveniently packaged in super boxes ready for immediate loading, while others require treatment in our seed treatment facility before being conveyed onto farmers' vehicles. Throughout the summer months, our focus shifts to field spraying, crop monitoring, and preparing our harvest equipment for the impending fall season. Additionally, we handle the trucking for any grain contracted for sale directly from our farm. As fall approaches, our staffing needs expand to include combine drivers, grain cart operators, truckers, and yard workers to efficiently manage the harvest. Once the harvest is complete and the machinery cleaned up, we do not require additional help, thanks to our commitment to staying updated on the latest John Deere equipment, minimizing maintenance and shop work. Job duties entail preparing fields for planting, attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools, operating tractors, planters, sprayers, and seed drills, loading and unloading crops or materials manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, loading hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulating controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mixing specified materials or chemicals, and dumping solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, driving farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspecting, adjusting, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, working in the yard and shop, maintaining a clean work environment, and cleaning up equipment. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion.
*** For 2025 and all future applications the starting date will be April 1 to cover the entire crop season.
