Job description

In Minnesota, our farm specializes in planting, growing, and harvesting soybeans, corn, and sugar beets from March to November, while managing the snowfall from mid-November to mid-March. Our responsibilities encompass all facets of crop production. We need seasonal workers to prepare fields for planting, attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools. Operating tractors, planters, sprayers, and seed drills is crucial, engaging deeply in planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities. Additionally, we fertilize, dust, and spray crops, applying pesticide solutions to manage insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases via hand sprayers. We manually load and unload crops or materials using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, and fill machines with products. Carefully manipulating controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery mechanisms, we mix specified materials or chemicals and monitor machinery operations for malfunctions. Positioning boxes or attaching bags to catch products at discharge ends, we remove and close full containers, weighing crop-filled containers and recording weights and other identifying information. Attaching equipment extensions or accessories, we load and unload crops using equipment for harvesting, also recording agricultural data, and driving farm trucks to transport crops, supplies, and tools. Inspecting, adjusting, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, we also maintain mowing, and grounds shed upkeep. Essential skills we seek include common-sense decision-making and caring for equipment and land, ensuring clear communication with farm management, adept problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively. We value respect, meticulous equipment maintenance, and an owner's mentality, reflecting responsibility, maturity, forward thinking, and self-motivation in every task. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion., Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

*** For 2025 and all future applications the starting date will be March 17 to cover the entire crop season.
