Job description

Assists Extra Gang Leadperson in maintaining cleanliness of factory. Clean and sweep floors, hose and clean equipment, cart and dump trash barrels. Mix chemicals for boil out solutions. Fill and record bags to the Magox and Gypsum stations. Shovel remelt sugar. Assure that all work areas are kept clean within the food safety and sanitation guidelines. Complete reports as required. Report mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, food safety, feed safety, operational problems, and/or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Other job related duties as business requires. Adhere to company policies and perform all assigned duties safely, efficiently, and in compliance with safety, food safety, feed safety, sanitation rules and programs, and environmental permits.

The employer will offer a minimum of 40 hours of work per week. Business operates 7 days a week, workdays vary Sunday through Saturday. 5-day work schedule with rotating shifts 8am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am, 12am to 8am. Scheduled sixth workday every four weeks. Hours and shift times may vary with business needs.

Basic rate of pay from $20.37 to $23.37 per hour. Base wage is $20.37 per hour. When working rotating shifts the wage is increased to $23.37 per hour. The employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Optional union membership is available.

Overtime may be available. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $30.56 to 35.06 per hour.

Optional health, vision, and dental insurance benefits are available at approximately $45 per paycheck. The cost of insurance will be deducted from the worker’s paycheck if the worker elects.

Workers are responsible for their own daily transportation to and from the worksite.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis.
Must be able to push/pull/bend 20 to 100 lbs.
Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions.
Must be able to certify understanding of environmental requirements.
Must be able to stand or walk on concrete floors for an entire 8-hour shift if necessary.
Must be able to climb stairs.
Must be able to work in extreme cold/hot temperatures and in loud/noisy and dusty conditions.
Must be willing and able to work on rotating shifts up to 6 days per week, including on weekends and holidays.
Post-employment criminal background check and drug test required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
Workers are subject to post-injury/incident drug test, and/or upon reasonable suspicion, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
Must have good attendance, safety, disciplinary, and overall employment records.
