Job description

LOR Inc dba Rollins Ranches, LLC is NOT a Farm Labor Contractor

Perform any combination of the following tasks to attend to livestock on the open range: feeds and waters livestock, herds livestock to pasture for grazing; examines animals to detect diseases and injuries; assists with the vaccination of livestock by herding into corral and or stall or manually restraining animal on the range; applies medications to cuts and bruises; sprays livestock with insecticide; assists with castration; clips ID notches on or brands animals. Workers must be physically able to perform all duties described. Must be able to ride and handle horses in a manner to assure the safety of the worker, coworker, and livestock. Must be able to find and maintain bearings to grazing areas. Must be willing and able to occasionally live and work independently or in small groups of workers in isolated areas for extended periods of time. If a worker is able to obtain a valid US driver's license, he or she may be asked to transport other H-2A workers. Workers may be asked to prepare communal meals for other H-2A workers. 10 hours per day is normal but workers may be on call for up to 24hours per day, 7 days per week. Minimum 3 months verifiable work experience required. Employer-paid post-hire, random, upon suspicion and post-accident drug testing required. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Cannot be afraid of heights; Near vision, far vision; Reasonable dust tolerance; Ability to work different shifts or variable hours; Ability to work quickly; Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; Ability to work in all types of weather conditions, i.e. fog, wind, heat, etc.; Prolonged standing, riding and/or walking on uneven ground during the work shift, and bending over repeatedly; Good finger dexterity; Firm grip; Repetitive movement of arms and shoulders, above and below head level; Repetitive use of wrists and hands; Pull, push and stretch repeatedly.

This application is being filed pursuant to the regulations at 20 CFR 655.210 - 655.211 for herding and range of livestock job orders.
Employer will provide at no cost to workers an effective means of communicating with persons capable of responding to the workers needs in case of an emergency.

Special Requirements

All items needed for this position whether listed in the application or not, including work vehicles, atvs, water coolers, etc., are provided to the worker at no charge or cost to them. All workers are provided at least 4.5 gals of fresh potable water per day, workers have hot and cold water at their housing and there are many locations at the ranch as which any worker can refill his water container as often as desired. Workers will be contacted in person at least twice a week at the main Ranch office and/or at specific areas of the open range as designated by employer. Minimum 3 months verifiable work experience required. Employer-paid post-hire, random, upon suspicion and post- accident drug testing required.
