Job description

Agricultural truck driver duties will include, in addition to driving to worksites, the loading and unloading of trucks, while delivering products. Tasks may include company equipment set up and break down, product maintenance such displaying, watering and culling. Worker will drive truck or tractor/trailer combination with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 30,000 pounds or more to/from specified destinations within area of intended employment; maneuver trucks into and out of loading and unloading positions. Worker will perform duties in both on-road (paved) and off-road conditions. Worker must possess the ability to successfully operate in rough and adverse off-road conditions. Worker must possess the ability to read a map, understand directions, use GPS and successfully navigate to a specific location; regularly climb up and down, on, into and out of truck; complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection and paperwork on trucks; perform all preventative maintenance duties to assigned fleet vehicle, as well as assist with reactive maintenance on assigned fleet vehicle. Operator is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly surface and deep cleanings of assigned fleet vehicle, including exterior, chassis, engine area and cargo carrying box. Worker is responsible for dropping truck at correct location in the yard. Service /repairs includes but is not limited to: lubricating grease points; inspecting and maintaining fluid levels, tire air pressures, belt and conveyer chain tensions, radiator and filter function; and braker performance; removing and replacing belts, wear parts, filters, lights and lenses, and chain or chain links, and making in field repairs.

Workers should be able to work both in and out of their truck for long periods of time. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations and must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. The ability to work in hot humid weather for extended periods of time is required. Temperatures may range from 10 to 100 F. Workers may be required to work during occasional rain showers not severe enough to stop operations. Workers will report to work at the designated time and place as directed by the supervisor each day. The standard work day is 8-10 hours per day Monday - Saturday. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Persons seeking employment as a agriculture truck driver must be available the entire period requested by the employer and possess 36 months of verifiable prior experience driving/servicing trucks and/or tractor/trailer combinations with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 30,000 pounds or more. This job requires a valid commercial drivers license issued by a US state or foreign equivalent. Workers must have clean driving record. Drivers must be at least 21 years of age and must obtain a DOT medical examiner's certificate before commencing work.
