Job description

Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct and monitor work
during planting and harvesting of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and
mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment including setting
plan with pipe planner; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn
machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and
fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, cotton, rice, soybeans;
Maintain John Deere Operations Center and relay data; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to
employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities
such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds, housing,
landscaping; Maintain inventory including segregating grain in bins; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer,
and other materials to condition soil; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer
machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Haul headers, parts, chemical, fuel from field to field,
to applicator, and to shop; Deliver seed to planters; Scale trucks in and out of grain facility and keep
track of tickets; Tag and inventory.

Special Requirements

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry
supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test
at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate
termination from employment. . Lift up to 75 lbs.
