Job description
Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and
fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as wheat, hay; Load
agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities; Repair and
maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Clean work areas; Feed and
water livestock and monitor food and water supplies; Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or
to scales, trucks, or other enclosures; Monitor animals for illness, injury, or disease; Mark
livestock to identify ownership and grade using brands, tags; Segregate animals according to
weight, age, color, or physical condition; Move equipment or livestock from one location to
another; Perform duties related to calving; Wean calves, monitor calf health daily; Pull sick
cattle and administer medicine as necessary; Sort calves to be taken to market and sold; Break
ice in stock tanks during winter; Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings,
corrals, yards, water strictures, feed bunks, and fences; Push manure into piles; Clean stalls
and pens during winter months; Drive farm vehicle.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to
obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75
lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing
positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination
from employment.
