Job description
All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Box 3 & 4, Page 1. Primary responsibilities will include all aspects of vegetable farm including but not limited to starting, planting, weeding, maintaining/pruning, harvesting, washing, and storing crops. Secondary responsibilities will include animal chores including egg collection, fence repair, pig feeding and coop/pen cleaning. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license, no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers should report to work with their own suitable work clothing. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions, including temperatures as low as 25 degrees with snow up to one foot deep and as high as 90 degrees with damp mornings. Work requires long periods of standing, bending and kneeling, as well as climbing ladders for long periods of time. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis and be available to work Monday through Saturday with Wednesday and Sunday off. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Workers may require to work 11 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday and Tuesday and may work 11 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Thursday through Saturday. Worker will be given 60 minutes for lunch. Beginning and ending times as well as days will vary depending on the conditions in the orchard. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.
Special Requirements
Tractor experience is welcome but not necessary.
