Orchard Laborer

Job description

Workers will plant, pick, clean, grade, sort, pack and/or load apples and pumpkins, do fence and trellis repair and other orchard maintenance. May plant, graft, train, cut down, prune and fertilize trees. May mow orchard grounds. May perform maintenance and improvement of farm structures, land and equipment. Must be able to operate a farm tractor, lawn tractor/mower, utility vehicle, skid steer, pallet jack and other orchard equipment. Must be able to stand and walk long periods of time, do repetitive motions, use sharp instruments, pick apples from a ladder, and repetitively lift 50lbs. Work days and times may change based on real-time requirements (weather, crop load, pests). Work may occasionally be performed in adverse weather (rain/cold). 3 months experience required. Basic English required.

Workers will have a weekly meeting with the owners to address any concerns regarding working conditions or living quarters. Workers will also have access to the Fair Food Program for airing grievances. Workers will also have access to a neighbor orchard owner who employees H2A workers.
