Job description
Grade, sort, pack various produce into customer specific containers. Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools. Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools. Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools. Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment, such as conveyors, or in specified areas, such as loading docks. Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment, or fill containers from spouts or chutes. Load materials and products into package processing equipment. Transport packages to customers' vehicles. Work schedule 9 hrs/day, 45 hrs/week Monday - Sunday, morning shift 8:00 am-5:30 pm; evening shift 12:00 pm-9:30 pm; night shift 11:00 pm – 8:30 am. All work schedules are 5 days a week with 2 days off. These days may vary. Because packing lines must be adequately staffed during each shift every day, days off and shift allocation will be communicated to each worker before the first day of work and will depend on availability.
Special Requirements
No education or experience required. Must lift/carry 60 lbs., when necessary. Requires physical stamina and manual dexterity. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Post-hire employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
