Job description
Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: Operate tractor and self-propelled
machinery such as skid steer to harvest crops such as pecans; Load agricultural products into trucks,
and drive trucks to market or storage facilities; Clean and process pecans; Dig trees; Bag; Set up and
operate irrigation equipment and water trees; Ground preparation for planting pecan trees, tree graft,
stake and prune trees; Weed and harvest pecans; Clean work areas; Record information about crops;
Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in the inspection, grading,
sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements,
and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Feel plants' leaves and note their
coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such
as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread fertilizer and other materials to condition soil; Repair
farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or
sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh containers and record weights and
identifying information; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard
rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full
containers.
Special Requirements
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
