Job description
H-2A and corresponding domestic workers must be available to perform each of the following job activities in connection with the harvesting and farming operations:
Field Workers: Strawberry Plant Trimmer; Plant Product Storage & Shipping Preparation (prepare plant product for shipment in its original, unmanufactured state); Packers/Punchers; QC; Box Makers; General Labor/Indirect Labor; Loaders/Palletizers; Plant Dumpers; Crew Leader; Forklift Operators; General Farm Labor / General Ranch Maintenance to perform the following duties:
Strawberry Plant
Strawberry Plant Trimmer: Employees will be working at standing stations behind a trimming table in a warehouse facility. Their duties will be focused on selecting and preparing bare root Strawberry plant material for packaging. This demanding work will require focused, disciplined and repetitive eye hand coordination and physical activity. The equipment required to perform these duties consist of nitrile gloves which are provided by the employer.
Plant Product Storage and Shipping Preparation (preparation of plant product for shipment is in its original, unmanufactured state): Employees will be working in and near packaging. Their duties will be varied in nature to include plant packaging in boxes, creating palletized stacks of product, movement of product to and from packaging facilities and sweeping / clearing up plant trash.
General Ranch Maintenance / General Farm Labor includes, but is not limited to, on the farm road maintenance and dust control to farm roadways by means of farm equipment.
Special Requirements
1-month experience in strawberry plant trimming. Written verification of experience is required. Workers must stand, sit, crouch, bend, reach, lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds in the course of performing required activities. Workers must be able to listen, understand, and follow instructions of company supervisors and managers.
The company's Employment Arbitration Agreement is set forth in this Clearance Order outlining the procedures to follow in raising concerns to seek their prompt resolution with an option to arbitrate unresolved matters. The employer assures that its Arbitration Agreement shall not preclude the workers from filing claims with the Americas Job Center of California offices (AJCCs) under the Employment Services Complaint System and the workers will not face retaliation.
