Job description
Shovel snow, grounds maintenance, such as litter cleanup and winterization of irrigation systems, and other duties as assigned related to facilities and roads maintenance, such as clearing roads and facilities of leaves, snow, or debris using hand tools or power equipment, including but not limited to rakes, shovels, and snow/leaf blowers. Potential for fall and spring clean-up, including raking, mulching, and composting of leaves, removal of dead plant material, perennial plant cutbacks, landscape bed mulching, and pruning from the ground. Deicing and removal of snow from walks, driveways and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties, using hand tools such as snow brooms, shovels, and spreading de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt by hand. May also use walk behind electric or gas snow blowers, as needed. May drive crew vehicle. No driver’s license is required as a condition of employment for the position. If the prospective worker already possesses a standard, noncommercial driver’s license they may be asked to drive a vehicle to job sites, as needed.
Special Requirements
MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER. MUST LIFT/CARRY 50 LBS., WHEN NECESSARY. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WORK REQUIRED, WHEN NECESSARY. MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM PHYSICAL LABOR OUTDOORS FOR AT LEAST 8 HOURS PER DAY IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS, INCLUDING COLD, HEAT, AND RAIN.
