Job description
Become familiar and competent with Deer Valley Snowmaking and Slope grooming equipment and techniques. Maintain, move, and set up snowmaking equipment including yet not limited to, snow guns and hoses to maximize snowmaking operations. Conduct equipment and production checks including monitoring weather conditions during snowmaking operations. Provide consistent snow density and distribution while creating a skiable snow surface with grooming machinery. Slope Maintenance staff will work full-time on the Snowmaking and Grooming crews as workloads dictate throughout the season. Perform basic troubleshooting of snowmaking guns, hydrants, and equipment. Competently and conscientiously perform the required equipment inspections, servicing, and record tracking of the results accurately and completely. Safely operate heavy machinery, company vehicles and snowmobiles as assigned. Quickly and accurately report any problem with the product or equipment to a supervisor. Assist with minor equipment repairs as needed. Exhibit professional conduct and proper radio etiquette. Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities. Must be responsive to direction and instruction while training, performing assignments and mentoring less experienced staff.
Special Requirements
3 months experience in operating snowmaking equipment. Able to lift and carry at least 60 pounds. Able to walk on steep and variable terrain and tolerate working in extreme conditions. Must be able to work all scheduled shifts including, weekends, holidays, swing and graveyard shifts. Background checks are completed in new hire onboarding with Human Resources. Drug screening is completed randomly, if there is a worksite injury, or if there is damage to Deer Valley property that is more than $150.
3 months experience in Snow Operations or operating snowmaking equipment.
On-the-Job Training provided. Will Train.
Following Shifts available 7 days a week including weekends and holidays. Work hours from: Dependent on weather: 12:45pm - 1am, 4:30pm - 1:00am, 12:45am - 1pm, 12:45am - 9:30am, shifts based on the time of the season, daylight, and need.
Hourly Wage: $21.00 to $35.00/hr. (based on merit and past experience with our company)
Overtime Possible: Overtime may be available at $31.50 to $52.50/hr.
