Job description

Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment including, but not limited to, tractors, payloaders, skidsteers, feed trucks, and mowers to mow grass, tend to livestock, maintain farm facilities and grounds, and transport grain and feed. Job will also require performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, buildings, fences, gates, barns and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; greasing equipment; feeding and monitoring livestock; assisting with vet visits; assisting with medication administration; treating sick livestock; vaccinating livestock; cleaning pens and feed bunks; processing feed by grinding hay with a loader and dumping bales into a grinder; sorting and processing livestock; shoveling feed bunks; sweeping floors; and lifting seed bags. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive sitting or walking.
