Packers and Packagers, Hand

Applicant must be of strong physical character, and display strength and dexterity in both arms and hands, exhibit trunk strength using abdominal and lower back muscles continually over time, as well as be able to spend the majority of the workday standing without giving out. Repeated heavy lifting is required. Position requires the ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions with exactness and integrity. No experience or prior training/education required. Employees will work in teams of 2-4 people. Teams are trained and supervised by production manager. Employees will work indoors. Each team will receive stone delivered in bulk by truck or loader and placed in their working area. Each team will work to package the stone delivered to them by:

Job Duty Process

• Sorting stones by size, shape, and color
• Stack stones on pallets or in crates according to product specifications
• Wrap crates or pallets with wire or shrink wrap
• Secure stone and wire by wrapping with poly or steel strapping according to specifications
• Tighten strapping and secure using strapping seals and strapping pliers

Completed packages, pallets, or crates are removed and inspected by quality control supervisor.

Employees are required to follow established safety program including use of safety glasses, steel toed boots, protective gloves, and hearing protection. All PPE provided by employer.
