Job description
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker.
Soybean Seed Production Roguing: visual inspection of the crop conducted by physically walking each row in the field look for off-types. Soybean Combine Cleanouts : after each variety is harvested the combine must be kernel cleaned before it can be used again. This process is done in the field by using compressed air and water to flush out tall seed that is trapped in the combine. General- cleaning work area to maintain a safe working environment, ability to perform general housekeeping tasks.
In order to perform these types of activities, the worker must be able to work for at least eight hours a day and have the requisite strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. Three months? experience in this type of work is required. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available.
Special Requirements
Workers must follow the directions of the supervisors at all times. All workers must be 18 years of age or older. Dress Code: Steel-toed boots and jeans are required. No sleeveless shirts. Hard hats, safety glasses, ear plus, and gloves will be provided and must be worn when combine cleaning. Hats with face nets, safety glasses and gloves will be provided and must be worn when in the field. The employer will reimburse up to $50 per person for steel toed shoes purchased during the work season. No use or possession of alcohol is permitted during work time or during any workday before work is completed (such as during meals.) Workers may not report to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
