Job description

Operate stationary equipment such as bale press to perform post-harvest tasks such as ginning; record weights and other identifying information including weight of bale and seed; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; Rake and clean loose cotton on the yard; Remove plastic wrap from round modules and place plastic in the press as it enters the gin; Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as ginning; Load and unload crops in the field; Drive truck to haul crops to or from gin storage; Adjust, repair, and service trucks; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Adjust, repair, and service machinery and notify supervisors of malfunctions; Daily upkeep and cleaning of equipment while ginning; During times of peak need and depending on weather or crop conditions, hours requested may increase per day; work at night may be requested; Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath.

Special Requirements

Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Workers must have a valid, insurable Class B drivers license or be eligible to apply for same license no cost to the worker. Must maintain clean driving record. Workers with a clean MVR and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may be requested to operate employer-owned trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to haul tools, supplies, crops, and transport workers (whether on or off farm) to and from the worker housing to the farm properties and occasionally around the farm properties during the workday including on public roads to reach the fields where work will be performed; and/or may transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis.
