Job description
Livestock Care: Feed, water, and monitor the health of cattle, ensuring they receive proper
nutrition and care. Assist with calving, including monitoring cows during birth and providing
necessary support. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed to maintain cattle
health. Herd and move cattle between pastures, for veterinary care, and for transport.
Farm Machinery Operation: Drive and operate farm machinery to support cattle farming
operations, such as feeding, haying, and cleaning. Attach and detach farm implements and
equipment as needed for various tasks. Set up, calibrate, and optimize equipment to ensure
efficient operation.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Perform general lubrication and service checks (e.g.,
check fluids) on farm machinery. Conduct mechanical repairs to ensure machinery and
equipment operate efficiently. Maintain and repair fencing, barns, and other facilities used
in cattle farming.
Manual Labor: Perform various manual labor tasks including cleaning, organizing, and
maintaining the farm environment, facilities, and equipment. Assist with general farm duties
such as repairing structures, maintaining water supplies, and handling waste management.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all local and federal regulations regarding work hours,
breaks, and safety protocols.
Employment may be terminated for the following reasons: Repeated absenteeism or
tardiness. Violation of safety protocols. Failure to perform job duties satisfactorily.
Misconduct or insubordination. Substance abuse on the job and operating machinery
and vehicles. Hours are based on seasonal and weather need and will fluctuate.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain.
