Job description

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker.
Fuzzy Seed Processing- tasks include operating equipment such as skid steers and forklifts, for loading and unloading semi-trucks and for bulk storage in the facility. Cleaning work area to maintain a safe working environment. Cleaning various equipment in the process using necessary tools such as brooms and air wands to prevent seed contamination. Pull various seed samples for quality checks such as temperature and weight, then update the shift lead with the information. Perform general housekeeping in all areas such as sweeping and mopping. All tasks should be performed following safety and quality policies. Three months experience in this type of work is required.
The type of work involves working conditions that require tremendous stamina and a high level of physical activity in cold or extremely hot conditions in direct sunlight and in adverse weather such as rain or snow. Due to the type of physical conditioning needed, there is a probationary period of five days beginning with the first day of employment to show possession of the required endurance to perform this type of work. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Workers should expect little to no work because of weather, crop, or conditions beyond the employer's control. These periods can occur any time throughout the season.

Special Requirements

Workers must follow the directions of the supervisors at all times. All workers must be 18 years of age or older. Because the position is safety sensitive, all workers will be required to pass a drug test prior to the first day of work. Drug tests must be administered by a clinic of the employers choosing and will be paid for by the employer. Drug tests will be at no cost to the worker. Failure to pass the drug test will result in termination of employment. Dress Code: Steel-toed boots and jeans are required. No sleeveless shirts. Hard hats, safety glasses, ear plus, and gloves will be provided and must be worn at all times. The employer will reimburse up to $50 per person for steel toed shoes purchased during the work season. No use or possession of alcohol is permitted during work time or during any workday before work is completed (such as during meals.) Workers may not report to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
