Job description
In our feedlot operation, we manage the growth of 600-pound animals to 1500 pounds, preparing them for harvest. Job duties include driving farm trucks, manure spreaders, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to the animals, as well as mixing feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Responsibilities also involve cleaning equipment and facilities, examining animals to detect illness, injury, or other problems, and moving cattle from one pen to another as needed. Once season is finished cattle are sent off to packaging facility and no further help is needed. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
