Job description

As a construction laborer, worker will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. This position will consist of prep work, placement, installation, curing, cutting, and more. The majority of work to be performed includes footings and foundations, retaining wall foundations, building floors, driveways and aprons. Worker may operate hand and power tools of all types including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and variety of other equipment and instruments. Work also may include cleaning and preparing sites, dig trenches, set braces, to support the side of excavations, erecting scaffolding and cleaning up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. Workers will construct buildings such as commercial shop and industrial buildings. Job duties that are involved but are not limited to; site preparation, onsite physical labor, use of power tools, welding, reading and interpreting blueprints, clean-up work, and ability to work at heights exceeding 100ft. Employees will be traveling to the job sites throughout the area of intended employment. Due to the rural population in South Dakota, this type of travel is customary.

Special Requirements

Must have 3 months experience in construction or related field. Ability to lift up to and in excess of 75 lbs. Ability to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on job location. Ability to work a 40-hour week.
