Job description

Attend to live farm and ranch animals that may include training horses and other equines for show, basic training and post backing, concerning young horses ages 4-7 for 1 meter levels in show jumping and 3 foot hunters . Attend to animals produced for equestrian activity. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, riding including dressage and hunter jumper flat work, intermediate or advanced fence jumping and riding horses 4 to 6 days per week, training, grooming, grazing, milking, castrating, branding, breaking, calving, de-breaking, weighing, catching, and loading animals. May maintain records on animals; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist in birth deliveries; and administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate. May clean and maintain animal housing areas. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Housing is provided at no cost for workers who cannot reasonably return to permanent residence at end of workday. Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in a working environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.
