Job description
Workers will Plant, pot, cultivate and harvest various types of trees and shrubs that grow in the farm field and nursery. Work includes pinching, pruning, fertilizing, watering, rooting, weeding, loading, potting, transporting, discarding, rotating, grading, storing, and transplanting field grown trees and shrubs according to supervisors instructions. Maintain nursery equipment and greenhouse. Following tree harvest, workers will make wreaths, swags, garland and roping. Workers must be able to stand on their feet to cut boughs the correct length and to assemble these materials into wreaths, swags, or garland consecutively and on a daily basis. Finished products must look clean and meet company quality standards to provide a sellable product. The workers will use a base of wire wring and attach steams of different sizes and shapes, the workers will attach the steams to the wire base using twine to create wreaths
according to supervisor instructions. Clean, organize and maintain nursery, greenhouse and farm building as needed.
Special Requirements
Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Employer reserves the right to terminate a worker if the employer reasonably finds worker's performance to be unacceptable. Employer reserves the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but is unwilling to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason.
The employer may discipline the worker, including brief suspension of work activities/employment for a set period determined by the supervisor or termination of employment.
