Job description

Harvest duties to include hedging pecan trees and clearing the debris, thinning, pruning of the trees, stacking harvested product in assigned areas, grading, sanitizing. Weeding; covering harvested pecans. Loading/unloading, packing unpacking harvested pecans (conveyor belts, loading machines, separators, cleaners, dryers, sorting machine, trucks etc). Driving tractors will be required to conduct the harvesting. Such as tractors with farming implements used while plowing. Tractors duck cart implement, shaker, combines, grain carts. Employee will be provided all equipment free of charge and are required to maintain equipment and clean work areas daily. Workers may be required to assist repair care for farming machinery or irrigation lines (pumps, ditches) if need be for in order for harvesting tasks to be conducted Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs frequently

Special Requirements

Work is to be done for long periods of time in the field, when plants may be wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Allergies to pecans, pecan husks, ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workers must be able to perform the required work with or without reasonable accommodations. Drug testing may be conducted after hire at employers' expense if there is a suspicion of drug use.
